Gemini brings new AI features to Galaxy S26 and Pixel 10 smartphones
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Google has introduced a series of latest Android updates including artificial intelligence (AI) features for Gemini such as task automation and enhanced online fraud detection.
According to Engadget on Friday, the Gemini application brings new features that allow users to delegate multi-step tasks to the AI system, such as ordering online transport or compiling shopping lists.
This feature will be released first in a beta version and can run without having to constantly open the application, so users can continue other activities. Users can monitor Gemini’s progress directly through notifications, so they can keep track of ongoing processes and take over the task at any time if needed.
In the initial phase, this feature will be limited to specific applications in the food, grocery shopping, and transport services categories. The feature update is currently only available for certain devices, such as Samsung Galaxy S26 and Google Pixel 10, in the United States and South Korea.
One of its implementations is fashion search through the “find the look” feature. After the system identifies each object in the selected clothing, users can try it virtually.
Additionally, Google has introduced an AI-based fraud detection feature integrated directly into devices for phone calls through Samsung’s Phone application. This feature leverages Gemini to detect conversation patterns commonly used by scammers and alert users.
Google has confirmed that this feature will not be active when users receive calls from saved contacts. By default, the feature is in an inactive position.
A similar feature is also applied to Google Messages to detect potential fraud through text messages. For now, fraud detection on phone calls is only available on the Galaxy S26 in English in the United States, whilst detection on messages is available in various regions.
All these latest features are now available for the Pixel 10 and Galaxy S26 lines, with availability that may vary depending on region and feature type.
