Gemini becomes AI with fastest web growth surpassing competitors

Jakarta — Google’s Gemini, a generative artificial intelligence service, has been reported to be the AI with the fastest user growth among competitors, particularly regarding website visits.

This finding is based on the latest data from SimilarWeb, which measures growth based on website traffic. It is important to understand that this assessment only considers website visits and does not include mobile applications or other access methods, meaning the findings do not reflect the overall user growth performance of each AI platform.

Compared to February 2025, Gemini has grown approximately 643 per cent year-over-year.

This growth is substantially higher when compared to its heavyweight competitor ChatGPT, which saw only a 37 per cent year-over-year increase during the same period.

Beyond Gemini, other AI services have also recorded significant growth year-over-year, with Grok and Claude expanding by 480 per cent and 297 per cent respectively during the same period.

SimilarWeb also identified AI services experiencing declining traffic. China-developed DeepSeek experienced a 55 per cent decline in website visits.
