GEKRAFS Australia officially inaugurated, opening wider access to global markets
Australia possesses a very open market, and we want Indonesia’s creative potential to be present more strongly there.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Central Executive Board (DPP) of the National Creative Economy Movement (GEKRAFS) has officially inaugurated the GEKRAFS Australia Overseas Representative Council (DPLN), significantly widening access to global markets.
This inauguration was part of the Creative Economy Diplomatic & Trade Mission (CEDM) series organised by the DPP GEKRAFS, held at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in Sydney, Australia, on Saturday (29/8), attended by the Chairman of the GEKRAFS Advisory Board, Sandiaga Uno.
The General Chairman of DPP GEKRAFS, Kawendra, stated in Jakarta on Sunday that the presence of the Australian DPLN holds a strategic position in opening new access and opportunities for Indonesian creative economy actors to enter and thrive in the international market.
He noted that this DPLN serves as a ‘bridge’ between Indonesia’s creative economy potential and the opportunities available in their host country.
“Australia has a very open market, and we want Indonesia’s creative potential to be present more strongly there,” he said.
Kawendra emphasised that the expansion of GEKRAFS’s international network must result in concrete benefits for creative economy actors in Indonesia.
“We do not want to stop at the inauguration ceremony. Following this, there must be programmes, collaborations, transactions, and opportunities that can be directly felt by Indonesian creative economy actors,” he asserted.
The Chairman of the GEKRAFS Australia DPLN, Wichen, expressed commitment to fulfilling the organisation’s mandate while strengthening the relationship between Indonesian creative economy actors in Australia and the domestic creative ecosystem.
His party is prepared to bring the GEKRAFS spirit to Australia, noting that the challenge lies in how Indonesian creative economy potential can be better known, accepted, and granted wider market access in Australia.
The Coordinator of the GEKRAFS DPLN, Olfriady Litunggamu, assessed that the formation of the Australian DPLN is a vital step in strengthening GEKRAFS’s international network.
According to him, the DPLN acts as an extension of GEKRAFS abroad and serves as a platform connecting Indonesian potential with opportunities in their respective countries.
He hopes the Australian DPLN can become a driving force for Indonesia’s creative economy diplomacy, particularly in opening opportunities for cooperation and business matching between Indonesian creative economy actors and partners in Australia.
The Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Sydney, Pendekar Muda Leonard Sondakh, noted that the presence of an organisation that strengthens economic ties and the creativity of the Indonesian community in Australia can become a part of Indonesian diplomacy.
“We hope the presence of GEKRAFS in Australia can strengthen the relationship between the two countries, particularly through the creative economy sector,” said Leonard.
The Creative Economy Diplomatic & Trade Mission (CEDM) by DPP GEKRAFS in Australia also received full support from PT Bank BNI (Persero) as part of efforts to encourage the strengthening of the ecosystem and access for the Indonesian creative economy to the global market.
In addition to the inauguration process, the CEDM series in Sydney also included Creative Talk and Business Matching agendas, providing a meeting space for Indonesian creative economy actors with potential partners, communities, the diaspora, and business networks in Australia.
