Geisz Chalifah Explains Reason for KPK Summons
Geisz Chalifah stated that he has been in the property business since the 1990s. In 2013, he purchased land in Pasar Minggu to build three housing units. One of the houses was bought by a man named Bagus Hariyanto in May 2014. The KPK summoned me solely to provide information regarding the house sale process. This was done because one of the parties who purchased the house is connected to the case being handled by the KPK, Geisz said in a written statement on Wednesday (29/7/2026). He claimed to have no personal relationship with the party involved in the case beyond the legal transaction as seller and buyer. The examination lasted about two hours and proceeded in a good and professional atmosphere, he added. Separately, the KPK has named three coal companies as suspects in a gratification case involving former Kutai Kartanegara Regent Rita Widyasari. The three corporate suspects are PT Sinar Kumala Naga, PT Alamjaya Barapratama, and PT Bara Kumala Sakti. Rita was previously convicted in 2018 and sentenced to 10 years in prison for accepting Rp 110 billion in gratuities related to project permits. She has since been released from prison.
