Geely’s Battleship 700 Gets 10,000 Orders in 12 Minutes
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Chinese automotive brand Geely has officially launched the Battleship 700 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) sport utility vehicle (SUV), which has received a strong response, with more than 10,000 orders recorded in just 12 minutes.
Car News China reported on Sunday that the vehicle, a rival to BYD’s Fang Cheng Bao Ti7, is built on the GTA platform, developed specifically for new-energy off-road vehicles.
The model is available in six configurations, with introductory prices ranging from 179,800 to 369,800 yuan, or approximately Rp480.7 million to Rp988.6 million.
Its design features the boxy body typical of an adventure SUV, with 233 mm of ground clearance, a 30-degree approach angle and a 31-degree departure angle.
Geely offers three powertrain configurations. These include a 1,500 cc turbo engine paired with a single electric motor, producing a combined 469 hp and 605 Nm of torque, as well as an option with three electric motors and a 1,500 cc engine, producing 925 hp and 1,165 Nm of torque.
All variants are equipped with a 47.14 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery supplied by CATL. The all-electric range is claimed to reach 305 km under the CLTC test cycle, while the combined range exceeds 1,770 km.
Its off-road capability is further supported by a dual-chamber air suspension, adaptive dampers and a maximum wading depth of 800 mm.
The strong initial order figures point to substantial market interest in electrified SUVs that combine high performance, cabin technology and off-road capability.
However, the order tally should not be taken to mean that the vehicles have already been delivered to customers.
