Geely is confirmed to launch a refreshed version of its compact electric vehicle, the EX2, in the Chinese market on 28 May 2026. The model, which is already being sold in Indonesia, will receive several minor updates, including an increased driving range of up to 460 km.

In terms of appearance, changes to the EX2 are not particularly dramatic. Geely has only applied cosmetic touches such as the use of the latest Galaxy logo and new aero hubcap design options.

However, the most significant improvement comes in the battery sector. According to Carnewschina, Geely now offers two LFP battery options: 35 kWh and 47 kWh. On a full charge, each is claimed to cover 360 km and 460 km respectively, based on CLTC testing standards.

The smaller battery variant uses a 58 kW rear motor, equivalent to 78 horsepower, whilst the larger battery version utilises an 85 kW motor, or around 114 horsepower.

The rear-wheel drive (RWD) system remains the sole driving option.

Currently, the Geely EX2 is sold in China at prices ranging from 68,800 yuan to 87,800 yuan, or approximately 179 million to 228 million rupiah.

Notably, the EX2 holds advantages over competitors in its class, such as the BYD Seagull (BYD Atto 1) and Wuling Binguo. This is because all EX2 variants are equipped with liquid-cooling systems for the battery.

Meanwhile, on some competitors, this feature is typically only available on the highest trim, whilst base variants still use air cooling.

In terms of dimensions, the Geely EX2 measures 4,135 mm in length, 1,805 mm in width, 1,570 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,650 mm.

For the suspension setup, the vehicle uses a MacPherson strut front suspension and independent multi-link rear suspension. This configuration is considered more comfortable than some rivals that still use a torsion beam at the rear.

The EX2 Pro relies on a 40.16 kWh battery capacity, which is claimed to achieve a driving range of up to 410 km based on CLTC testing. The EX2 Max uses a 30.12 kWh battery with a driving range of approximately 310 km (CLTC).
