GE wins award from U.S. body

JAKARTA: The United States Chamber of Commerce Center for Corporate Citizenship (CCC) announced that General Electric (GE) has won the Corporate Citizenship Award in the category of Corporate Stewardship, Large Business.

The CCC said in a statement released on Friday that the award acknowledged businesses and chambers of commerce that have demonstrated ethical leadership and corporate stewardship and have made a difference in their communities.

"GE is an example of corporate citizenship at its finest," said Chamber Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Suzanne Clark in the release.

GE, whose history goes back to 1876, engages in a wide range of sectors from jet engines to power generation, financial services to plastics, and medical imaging to news and information. -- JP
