GE provides scholarship

JAKARTA (JP): The GE fund, a foundation run by General Electric Company announced scholarship programs on Monday for Indonesian college students between 2000 and 2005.

GE Indonesia said in a statement that for the first stage, 12 students from various Indonesian universities would be selected to receive the scholarships.

The fund will work with the International Education Foundation (IEF) to administer the program, particularly in the selection of the scholarship recipients.

The scholarship recipients should meet the following criteria: outstanding academic performance, financial need and remarkable nonacademic achievements, the statement said. (jsk)
