GDE-Danareksa Collaboration to Implement Industrial Zones Drives Accelerated Green Economy Growth
PT Geo Dipa Energi (Persero) (GDE) is committed to supporting the growth of the Industrial Zone managed by PT Danareksa (Persero) through signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding the Plan for Collaboration on the Implementation of Green Industry in Danareksa Holding’s Industrial Zones.
The signing was conducted directly by GDE’s President Director, Yudistian Yunis, and Danareksa’s President Director, Yadi Jaya Ruchandi, witnessed by Mukhammad Syaiful Anam, Vice President of the Danareksa & PPA-PT Danantara Asset Management Business Performance and Asset Optimization Cluster; Burhanuddin Abdullah, President Commissioner of PT PLN (Persero); and Mei Ling, Director of Separated State Assets, Directorate General of State Assets, Ministry of Finance, at Danareksa Tower, on Wednesday (20/05).
In the collaboration, GDE is expected to become the electricity supplier sourced from geothermal energy in Dieng via PLN’s distribution network to the Batang Industrial Zone as a pilot project for renewable energy utilisation within the national electricity system. This green electricity will become a supply-chain requirement for tenants, particularly those oriented toward exports.
Yadi explained that the demand for green electricity in the Industrial Zone, especially the Batang Integrated Industrial Zone (KITB), is highly strategic given that global businesses carry ESG commitments from their supply chains.
“That is why KITB will be our pilot project first of this cooperation, to then be replicated to other Danareksa industrial zones,” he said.
As information, Danareksa as a Holding BUMN manages seven industrial zones, namely Medan Industrial Zone (KIM), Nusantara Bonded Zone (KBN), Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung (JIEP), Surabaya Industrial Estate Rungkut (SIER), Makassar Industrial Zone (KIMA), Wijayakusuma Industrial Zone (KIW), and Batang Integrated Industrial Zone (KITB).
Furthermore, Yudistian also explained that the MoU is a concrete step to accelerate the utilisation of geothermal energy to grow the economy.
“This initial step is expected to gain support from all stakeholders to increase green-based competitiveness in Indonesia,” he said.
“Meanwhile, Burhanuddin also stated that through this initiative, the government’s aspiration through Asta Cita could be realised. According to him, the realisation of this plan will provide hope for an economy that can grow rapidly, in a clean manner, and benefit the community.”
