The Gelora Bung Karno Complex Management Centre (PPKGBK) has stressed that there was never a sale and purchase process of the Hotel Sultan land to PT Indobuildco. PPKGBK legal counsel Chandra M. Hamzah stated that between 1958 and 1962, the government acquired the land for the implementation of the IV Asian Games. Subsequently, the government granted permission to PT Indobuildco to use the land. However, no sale and purchase process ever took place. “Then PT Indobuildco was given permission to use it. There was no sale and purchase, no relinquishment of land rights, no inheritance, no grant, no transfer of rights from the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to Indobuildco. None at all, only a permit to use the land for 30 years,” he told reporters on Thursday (18/6). Chandra noted that in 2023, PT Indobuildco’s Hak Guna Bangunan (Building Rights Title) expired. Consequently, the government, through the Ministry of State Secretariat and PPKGBK, undertook efforts to reclaim the land. After a lengthy process, the execution and takeover of the land was successfully carried out today. Chandra conveyed that the subsequent management of the former Hotel Sultan land will be conducted by PPKGBK in accordance with the provisions of Minister of Finance Regulation Number 115/PMK.06/2020. “How the implementation proceeds, the utilisation must comply with the PMK. Do not force us to violate this PMK. Everything must be in accordance with this PMK,” he said. On the same occasion, Deputy Minister of State Secretariat Juri Ardiantoro expressed appreciation for the successful execution and takeover of the Hotel Sultan land. He stated that this step is part of the mandate to secure state assets. “We have carried out the mandate to safeguard state assets. This is not merely an asset but also about upholding the authority of the state to protect its property, and after this the asset will be utilised to the greatest extent for the interests of the state and the public,” he said.
