This debate has emerged following views from several parties predicting the risk of domestic socio-political upheaval. Senior PAN politician Dradjad Wibowo believes that this narrative is systematically promoted by groups with differing political views from the 2024 presidential election. “From what I see, those mostly raising the issue of chaos are my friends who lost in the presidential election. Sorry, but they’re still stewing in resentment, unable to move on,” said Dradjad on the Gaspol Podcast, airing tonight, Monday (13/5/2026). Dradjad assesses that parties claiming the President cannot be advised do not reflect the actual situation, especially for those without direct interaction. “They’ve never interacted directly with him (Prabowo); I’ve been interacting with him since 2014,” he said. According to him, safeguarding the stability of the nation is the top priority. All forms of political manoeuvres, such as impeachment, are deemed not only procedurally difficult but also to carry very high social and political costs for the nation’s continuity. Constitutionally, Indonesia’s impeachment mechanism involves a long and complex process, starting from the DPR, proceeding to the Constitutional Court, and culminating in a final decision by the MPR. This process renders impeachment an extraordinary step that rarely occurs and requires strong grounds.
