Gaspol Today: Are There Prabowo's Ministers Untouched by the Reshuffle?

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Political analyst from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah, Adi Prayitno, stated that there are ministers in the Merah Putih Cabinet who are likely to remain untouched by the reshuffle. The ministers in question are the general chairmen of political parties. According to Adi, to maintain political stability, the president is more inclined to replace ministers who do not have backgrounds as party elites. “This is about stability, this is about political support. The principle is not to reduce the parties’ quotas,” said Adi in the Gaspol! podcast aired on Kompas.com’s YouTube channel, on Thursday (30/4/2026). This is because the fifth edition of the reshuffle is mostly filled with familiar faces. Of the six officials appointed, only one newcomer, activist Jumhur Hidayat, who now serves as the Minister of Environment, was introduced. The rest, three officials merely switched positions, while two others are familiar faces returning to the palace circle. “The fifth reshuffle indeed does not have much impact. It is not particularly tumultuous,” Adi remarked. Adi suspects that Prabowo is deliberately implementing the reshuffle in stages to safeguard political stability.
