Gasibu Library to Transform into Digital Library

The West Java Provincial Government will transform the library at Gasibu Square into a digital library. This ensures the public can still access literacy services while the Gedung Sate courtyard and Gasibu Square undergo redevelopment.

West Java Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman confirmed the provincial government’s commitment to providing literacy services to the community. In addition to the digital library, the provincial government will also provide mobile libraries around the Gasibu Square area.

“God willing, Gasibu Square will be integrated with the Gedung Sate courtyard and the public will continue to receive literacy services,” Herman said on Monday.

Furthermore, the public can access library services through nearby public libraries, one of which is the Bandung City Public Library located on Jalan Seram Number 2 Bandung, not far from the Gedung Sate and Gasibu Square area.

As a public open space, Gasibu Square is used daily by the community for sports, walking, recreation, and various other outdoor activities. These activities require a spacious, safe area with high mobility. Therefore, the redevelopment of Gasibu Square is being carried out comprehensively.

The West Java Provincial Government is committed to ensuring that quality public spaces can coexist with the strengthening of the literacy ecosystem, so that both can provide greater benefits to the community.

“The spirit of literacy will remain an important part of human resource development in West Java,” Herman said.
