No casualties were reported.

Head of the Bogor District Education Office, Rusliandy, said the incident occurred at around 5:15 a.m. in the cafeteria adjacent to the school.

The blast is believed to have been triggered by a 25-kilogram LPG cylinder that exploded outside school hours.

Rusliandy confirmed that no students or teachers were present at the time.

“Thank God, the incident occurred outside of school hours, resulting in no casualties. However, several classrooms were affected,” he stated.

Initial assessments found that the explosion damaged about 15 meters of the school fence, the wall near the second-floor stairwell, three classrooms on the first floor, two classrooms and a laboratory on the second floor, as well as windows and frames.

The school sign was also damaged, and cracks appeared in the school field due to the impact.

The Gunung Putri Sub-district office received a report at around 5:20 a.m. and immediately inspected the site with school officials, the Ciangsana Village Military Command, and local authorities.

As a precaution, the affected sections—particularly on the second floor—were temporarily closed, and access to damaged classrooms was restricted.

The Bogor District Education Office has suspended in-person classes for two days, switching to online learning while a technical inspection is carried out.

The local government will oversee repairs to ensure the building’s safety before classes resume.
