Ahead of the implementation of Operation Ketupat Lodaya 2026, Garut Police District carried out the destruction of evidence comprising 1,852 bottles of alcoholic beverages and hundreds of exhaust pipes not meeting technical specifications. The operation was conducted as an effort to maintain public security and order ahead of the Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

The destruction of evidence resulted from various raids and public nuisance operations carried out by Garut Police District and its precinct units over recent months in Garut Regency.

Garut Police Chief AKBP Yugi Bayu Hendarto stated that ahead of Operation Ketupat Lodaya, the police conducted the destruction of evidence comprising 1,852 bottles of spirits of various brands and 704 illegally modified exhaust pipe units seized during enforcement operations.

The police are committed to taking firm action against the circulation of illegal alcohol and the use of exhaust pipes not compliant with specifications that can disturb public order.

“This step is part of efforts to create a safe and conducive security and public order situation, particularly ahead of Operation Ketupat Lodaya 2026, which aims to secure the flow of homecoming and return journeys and public activities, especially during Eid al-Fitr celebrations,” he said on Thursday, 12 March 2026.

According to him, besides serving as a form of law enforcement, it also sends a message to the community to jointly maintain environmental order and not engage in the distribution of alcoholic beverages or the use of exhaust pipes which can cause noise.

“With this firm step, it is hoped that the situation in Garut Regency remains safe and conducive so that the public can conduct their activities and celebrate Eid al-Fitr with comfort and peace,” he said.

Garut Police District appealed to the public to continue playing an active role in maintaining environmental security and to promptly report to the police if they discover activities that could potentially disturb public order and security.
