Garut Police Chief Shows 'Magic Hand' Smashing Bottles to Intimidate Alcohol Distributor
The action of Cibatu Police Chief AKP Amirudin Latif within the jurisdiction of the Garut Police, West Java, which smashed a bottle of liquor into pieces, has gone viral on social media. Amir’s action of smashing the alcohol bottle was carried out while interrogating the alcoholic beverage dealer.
As reported by detikJabar on Wednesday (12/8/2026), the police officer expressed his frustration towards alcohol dealers who are considered to be the trigger for various criminal acts and juvenile delinquency. A moment later, Amir demonstrated his action, and with a single slap of his palm, a bottle of liquor that was still completely full instantly shattered into pieces.
“If this happens again and you sell, be careful. If you want to know, this will be on your head later,” the police officer said in Sundanese.
When confirmed separately, Amir confirmed that the action occurred while his unit was carrying out an operation to eradicate illegal alcohol in his jurisdiction.
“We arrested a suspect with the initials SM (33) in Babakanloa, Cibatu. This seller is a resident of Tasikmalaya,” Amir said.
During the operation, officers seized hundreds of bottles of ready-to-sell alcohol from the perpetrator before they could be distributed to the public.
“He had not yet had time to distribute them, and we managed to catch him first,” he said.
