He stated that the Garut Police, together with the West Java Regional Police’s Mobile Investigation Team, immediately launched a manhunt after receiving a report from the victim, Andika Tri Juliansyah, a 26-year-old resident of Cibatu, Garut, who is a crossing guard employed by state railway company PT KAI. Following the investigation, the joint team successfully identified the suspects and arrested all of them in Bandung on Tuesday (14/7). The suspects are identified by the initials IS (44), AW (35), NK (59), all residents of Garut, and DAM (31), a resident of Bandung. All perpetrators have been taken to the Garut Police headquarters to face legal proceedings for their actions. The assault occurred at the Leuwigoong railway crossing post in Sindangsari Village, Garut, on Sunday (12/7) afternoon. The victim was on duty when he reprimanded the suspects for attempting to cross the barrier after it had been closed, warning them of the danger. The suspects reacted violently to the warning and attacked the guard, causing injuries to his face and head. The victim subsequently reported the incident to the police. Authorities have stressed their commitment to taking firm action against any acts of criminal violence, especially those against public service workers performing their duties.
