Garuda TV’s Director General, Fahmi M. Anwari, announced the release of the “Waktunya Mudik 2026” team, affirming the broadcaster’s commitment to delivering swift, accurate, and comprehensive mudik (homecoming exodus) information to the Indonesian public nationwide.

“The release of this coverage team reflects Garuda TV’s support for government efforts and various stakeholders in ensuring the mudik exodus proceeds safely, smoothly, and in an orderly manner,” he stated in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He added that through a network of reporters stationed at various strategic points along mudik routes, Garuda TV will provide live reports on traffic conditions, infrastructure readiness, and other critical information needed by travellers.

“Mudik is a significant occasion that unites millions of Indonesians in one journey home to their villages. Through the Waktunya Mudik 2026 programme, Garuda TV wishes to ensure that the public receives swift, accurate, and relevant information so that the mudik journey can be safer and more comfortable,” said Fahmi.

According to Fahmi, the presence of Garuda TV’s coverage team along mudik routes also represents the media’s contribution to supporting a transparent and solution-oriented public information ecosystem.

“We want Garuda TV to be present not merely as a news outlet, but also as an information partner for the public and government in ensuring smooth mudik flows. Timely information can help people make better travel decisions,” he added.

The release of the Waktunya Mudik 2026 team was also attended by numerous state officials and stakeholders with important roles in managing Indonesia’s national mudik operations, including the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Chief of the Presidential Staff Office Muhammad Qodari, Minister of Population and Family Development Wihaji, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono, Managing Director of PT Jasa Raharja Muhammad Awaluddin, Chief of Polri’s Traffic Corps Major General Agus Suryonugroho, Head of Polri Headquarters Public Relations Major General Johnny Eddizon Isir, Head of Metro Jaya Regional Police Public Relations Police Commissioner Budi Hermanto, and Deputy V for Communications of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Air Marshal Eko Dono Indarto.
