Garuda TV and ANTARA collaborate to expand public information distribution

State news agency ANTARA and broadcaster Garuda TV have entered into a partnership to expand the distribution of public information. The signing of a memorandum of understanding and a cooperation agreement on the dissemination of public information and the broadcast of video features took place at Garuda Medan Merdeka, Jakarta, on Tuesday. As the national news agency, ANTARA has a responsibility to ensure that accurate, reliable, and high-quality information is accessible as widely as possible. Through this cooperation with Garuda TV, ANTARA hopes its various video feature content and public service information can reach a broader audience, strengthen public understanding of strategic national issues, and provide greater benefits for the Indonesian people. The collaboration is founded on a shared vision of both institutions to support the spread of balanced, educational, and beneficial information for the public amidst an increasingly dynamic media landscape. Both parties agreed to optimise their respective potentials and capabilities in disseminating quality journalistic content, including ANTARA’s in-depth Feature Video News covering strategic national issues, development, economy, social affairs, culture, environment, and public service programmes. The content will be broadcast periodically through Garuda TV’s platforms according to mutually agreed programme needs and broadcast schedules. Garuda TV’s President Director stated the partnership is an important step in strengthening the national information ecosystem while expanding public access to quality, educational, and trustworthy information. He expressed confidence that the collaboration will support the effective dissemination of various government strategic programmes and national development issues. Substantively, the cooperation includes a common understanding of the definition, standards, and mechanisms for utilising Feature Video News content, information dissemination activities, and the use of ANTARA’s content distribution platform. Both parties are also partnering in the dissemination of news and public service obligation information to support the public’s need for quality, reliable, and easily accessible information. As part of the implementation, Garuda TV will become a strategic partner for ANTARA in expanding the distribution of public information content, while ANTARA will provide various video feature materials and information content through its distribution system for Garuda TV’s use. The collaboration is also part of ANTARA’s efforts to expand the reach of public service content distribution and strengthen inter-media synergy while maintaining the national and regional media ecosystem. The agreement also opens opportunities for broader collaboration in broadcasting, reporting, information exchange, and the development of media programmes relevant to public needs and the national media industry.
