Garuda Indonesia is preparing one additional aircraft to transport Hajj pilgrims (JCH) from Makassar Embarkation (UPG) in South Sulawesi, specifically for the last three departure groups (kloter). Ikbal Ismail, head of the Hajj Organising Task Force (PPIH) at Makassar Embarkation, said in Makassar on Tuesday that departures from Makassar Embarkation are entering the final stage with the last three kloters—40, 41 and 42.

‘To support the smooth operation of the three final departures, the airline has prepared an extra aircraft for Makassar Embarkation,’ he said.

He added that the JCH for the last three kloters arrived at the Hajj Dormitory in Sudiang, Makassar, on Tuesday (19 May), and on Wednesday (20 May) are scheduled to depart after the quarantine process has been under way for about 24 hours.

‘The schedule remains as previously issued. But because three kloters have already entered, Garuda is anticipated to take an aircraft from Embarkation Lombok since Embarkation Lombok has finished,’ he said.

He explained that the additional fleet will be used to support three pilgrim flights to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

To date, Makassar Embarkation has flown out 38 kloters, comprising around 14,941 prospective Hajj pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
