Garuda Prabayaksa carriage carries flag and proclamation text to the Palace
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Garuda Prabayaksa state carriage has departed to deliver the national flag and proclamation text from the National Monument to Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, as part of the Red and White procession on Monday morning.
Monitored online from Jakarta on Monday, the state carriage carried the national flag and proclamation text, borne by Purna Paskibraka Duta Pancasila 2025 members.
Purna Paskibraka Bianca Sultana Najwa, a student of SMAN 82 Jakarta, carried the national flag. Meanwhile, the proclamation text was entrusted to Aliah Sakira, a student of SMAN 14 Makassar.
Both rode in the state carriage as part of the procession ahead of the commemoration of the Proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at Merdeka Palace.
The Garuda Prabayaksa state carriage was specially made in Sleman, Yogyakarta, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in 2025. The name Garuda Prabayaksa derives from the words ‘Praba’ and ‘yaksa’, meaning great light or bright light.
The state carriage was escorted by 45 military police motorcycle escort troops and the Pelopor Cendrawasih drum corps of the Police Academy. Also escorting were 114 Ronggolawe Cavalry Regiment horsemen and 78 Nusantara Kingdom troops.
Previously, the handover procession of the flag and proclamation text took place in the Independence Room of the National Monument.
The procession towards Merdeka Palace is part of the implementation of the 81st Anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia ceremony, themed ‘A Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia’.
The 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia commemoration ceremony will take place at Merdeka Palace today, with a number of residents willing to come and queue since early morning to attend the commemoration ceremony since dawn.
