Garuda Prabayaksa Carriage Arrives at Palace Carrying Flag and Proclamation Text
The Garuda Prabayaksa state carriage has arrived at Merdeka Palace to deliver the sacred flag and proclamation text from the National Monument (Monas), Jakarta, on Monday (17/8) morning, as part of the Red and White procession.
The state carriage carrying the sacred flag and proclamation manuscript was accompanied by Purna Paskibraka Duta Pancasila.
Purna Paskibraka Bianca Sultana Najwa, a student of SMAN 82 Jakarta, carried the sacred flag. Meanwhile, the proclamation manuscript was entrusted to Aliah Sakira, a student of SMAN 14 Makassar.
Both rode in the state carriage as part of the procession ahead of the commemoration of the Proclamation Moments of the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence at Merdeka Palace. The state carriage then arrived at Merdeka Palace at around 08.30 WIB.
The Garuda Prabayaksa state carriage was specially made in Sleman, Yogyakarta, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in 2025. The name Garuda Prabayaksa derives from the words ‘Praba’ and ‘yaksa’, meaning great light or bright light.
The state carriage was escorted by 45 military police motorcycle escort troops and the Pelopor Cendrawasih drum corps of the Police Academy. Also providing escort were 114 mounted cavalry troops of the Ronggolawe Cavalry Regiment and 78 troops of the Nusantara Kingdoms.
Previously, the handover procession of the flag and proclamation text was carried out in the Independence Room of the National Monument.
The procession towards Merdeka Palace is part of the implementation of the 81st Proclamation Moments Commemoration Ceremony of the Republic of Indonesia, themed Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia.
The 81st Independence Day commemoration ceremony of the Republic of Indonesia will take place at Merdeka Palace today, with a number of residents willing to come and queue since early morning to attend the commemoration ceremony since dawn.
