Garuda plane collides with jeep
SINGAPORE: A passenger plane collided with a jeep as it prepared to take off from Singapore's Changi Airport, officials said on Friday.
The Garuda Indonesia Boeing 737 plane was grounded after the accident with an airport ground vehicle on a taxiway on Thursday at 8:50 p.m., the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore said in a statement.
No one was injured and the Jakarta-bound passengers were transferred to another flight that left about three hours later. An official at Garuda's Singapore office declined comment.
Both vehicles were moving at the time of the accident and it was not clear which was at fault, an aviation authority spokeswoman said on condition of anonymity. An investigation is in progress.
The door of the plane's front landing gear was damaged in the collision and the aircraft has been towed to a parking bay, the statement said. -- AP
