Garuda Party Supports and Monitors President Prabowo's MSME Financing and Digitalisation Programme

The Garuda Republic Indonesia Party (Garuda) supports and monitors the programme to strengthen Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) under the administration of President Prabowo Subianto. Garuda Party Secretary-General Ihsan Jauhari assessed that expanding access to financing through the People’s Business Credit (KUR) scheme and accelerating digital transformation are concrete steps in reinforcing the foundation of the people’s economy.

“MSMEs are the foundation of the people’s economy. When access to capital is expanded, digitalisation is accelerated, and markets become more open, what is strengthened is not only business actors but also the resilience of the community’s economy,” said Ihsan in a statement on Thursday (20/8/2026).

Ihsan explained that the MSME sector, which numbers around 57 million units, is the backbone of the economy, contributing 60.5 percent to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and absorbing 97 percent of the national workforce.

The direction of President Prabowo’s economic policy is considered to be realised concretely through increased capital distribution. Garuda Party noted that, as of June 2026, total national MSME financing had reached nearly Rp2,000 trillion.

“That figure is important because it shows that support for the people’s economy is translated through tangible instruments. Access to capital gives MSME actors the opportunity to increase production capacity and create jobs,” said Ihsan.

In addition to financing, the expansion of the digital ecosystem is also a main pillar in encouraging MSMEs to move up a class. Citing Bank Indonesia data as of April 2026, the use of the QRIS payment method has reached more than 45 million merchants, the majority of whom are small traders and home-based businesses. He assessed that President Prabowo’s administration has succeeded in connecting lower-level economic actors in villages and regions into the mainstream of national economic growth.

“Garuda Party appreciates the direction of President Prabowo’s administration, which continues to provide space for strengthening the people’s economy. The more MSMEs that grow and move up a class, the stronger the foundation of the Indonesian economy,” concluded Ihsan.
