Garuda Indonesia to Resume Bandung-Denpasar Route Starting 14 August

Flight activity at Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung is once again showing a positive trend. National flag carrier Garuda Indonesia officially resumed direct return flights between Bandung and Denpasar on Friday, 14 August 2026.

This move marks the reactivation of the airport for commercial jet flights while strengthening connectivity between two of Indonesia’s main tourism and creative economy centres. For this route, Garuda Indonesia is deploying Boeing 737-800NG aircraft with a total capacity of 162 seats.

The inaugural flight, numbered GA-334, departed from Bandung at 11.30 WIB. The return service from Denpasar to Bandung is operated as flight GA-335.

Garuda Indonesia President Director Glenny Kairupan stated that the reopening of this route is part of the company’s performance transformation to build a flight network that is relevant to public needs and has sound business fundamentals.

“Today’s momentum not only marks Garuda Indonesia’s return to flying from Bandung, but is also part of our efforts to optimise the market potential of West Java and Bali, which are the epicentre of national tourism,” said Glenny.

He added that Bali’s position as a gateway for international tourists is expected to boost onward traffic to Bandung and other leading destinations in West Java. This is believed to open up broader mobility for both tourists and business operators.

Garuda Indonesia’s presence in Bandung will also be followed by its subsidiary, Citilink. The low-cost carrier is scheduled to begin operating flights from Bandung to a number of destinations on 17 August.

This synergy under the Garuda Indonesia Group aims to provide a wider range of service options for the public while building an integrated and competitive aviation ecosystem in the West Java region.
