Jakarta – Garuda Indonesia has strengthened its service offerings to the public through the opening of a Sales Office at the BUMN Building in Jakarta to facilitate easier access for ticket purchases, travel changes, and various travel-related services.

“We continue to strengthen service access for our customers through the inauguration of Garuda Indonesia Sales Office (GASO), located at the BUMN Building area on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan in Central Jakarta,” said Garuda Indonesia Chief Executive Officer Glenny Kairupan in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.

He stated that the sales office represents part of the company’s sustained commitment to expanding its one-stop service network that is increasingly accessible to the public.

GASO is Garuda Indonesia’s official sales office that provides direct face-to-face service to customers and business partners, including ticket purchase and modification, GarudaMiles registration, group ticket bookings, and various other travel requirements.

According to Glenny, this milestone holds deeper significance, as the location forms part of Garuda Indonesia’s historical journey.

“Through this face-to-face service, we hope to provide a more personal service experience whilst addressing the various travel needs of our customers directly,” said Glenny.

Furthermore, he noted that Garuda Indonesia’s presence at the BUMN Building also holds historical importance for the company’s development.

The building previously served as Garuda Indonesia’s headquarters since 1987, witnessing for over two decades the national carrier’s journey in serving Indonesian mobility needs. In 2007, Garuda Indonesia then centralised its operations at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

“Garuda Indonesia’s return to this building through this office carries strong symbolic significance, serving as a reminder of Garuda Indonesia’s long journey in connecting Indonesia with the world whilst representing the spirit of collaboration amongst state-owned enterprises in serving the public,” Glenny added.

Located in Jakarta’s strategic central business and government district, the GASO at the BUMN Building is expected to further facilitate public access to Garuda Indonesia’s travel services directly.

Currently, Glenny noted, Garuda Indonesia operates at least seven sales offices in the Jakarta and surrounding areas, alongside a network of sales offices spread across various cities throughout Indonesia and overseas.

“This symbolises Garuda Indonesia’s continued commitment to be closer to the public, serve with all our heart, maintain trust, and continue to raise Indonesia’s name to greater heights,” he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Head of the State-Owned Enterprise Regulatory Board Tedi Bharata assessed that the Garuda Indonesia Sales Office would support the need for air ticket services, particularly given its strategic location.

Additionally, Tedi noted that GASO’s presence also provides Garuda Indonesia an opportunity to implement the Danantara value of “Serve with Heart.”

“It is hoped that the inauguration of this sales office marks a good beginning for improving Garuda Indonesia’s performance,” he said.

The GASO inauguration at the BUMN Building was conducted by Garuda Indonesia’s Board of Commissioners and Board of Directors, accompanied by leadership and representatives from the State-Owned Enterprise Regulatory Board (BP BUMN), and witnessed by the boards of Aero Globe Indonesia, Aerowisata, and Garuda Indonesia’s business partners.
