Garuda Indonesia serves 102,705 Hajj pilgrims with 94.3 percent on-time performance
National flag carrier Garuda Indonesia has concluded its entire Hajj flight operations for 1447 H/2026, serving 102,705 pilgrims from 10 embarkation points across Indonesia with a cumulative on-time performance (OTP) of 94.3 percent.
“The organisation of Hajj flights is not merely an operational activity, but a national mandate that brings together aspects of public service, aviation safety, and humanitarian responsibility,” said Garuda Indonesia President Director Glenny Kairupan in a statement in Jakarta on Monday.
He stated that the completion of this year’s Hajj operations represents Garuda Indonesia’s commitment to carrying out the state’s mandate through the provision of safe, reliable, and pilgrim-oriented air transport services. According to him, the maintained on-time performance during this year’s Hajj operations serves as a positive signal of the sustainable strengthening of Garuda Indonesia’s operational performance.
This achievement, he continued, aligns with the company’s transformation agenda, which focuses on improving operational consistency, service enhancement, and strengthening collaboration across the entire aviation ecosystem.
Glenny added that the operational series concluded with the landing of flight GA-1443 from Madinah at Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in Makassar on Wednesday, 1 July 2026, at 17:05 WITA. The final flight carried 244 pilgrims from Flying Group (Kloter) 43 of the Makassar Embarkation.
Throughout the return phase, Garuda Indonesia recorded an on-time performance of 90.3 percent. Consequently, the entire departure and return operations for Hajj 1447 H/2026 M achieved a cumulative OTP of 94.3 percent.
“We are grateful that the entire series of operations could be completed well through close collaboration with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the Ministry of Transportation, regulators, airport authorities, and all operational partners who share the same commitment to providing the best service for the guests of Allah,” said Glenny.
Glenny added that the completion of Hajj operations with maintained punctuality also reflects positive progress in the company’s transformation efforts to strengthen fleet readiness, operational coordination effectiveness, and service quality consistency. According to him, the success of Hajj operations is measured not only by flight punctuality but also by the ability of the entire service ecosystem to maintain the comfort and quality of service for pilgrims, particularly elderly groups and those requiring special assistance, from departure from the homeland until their return to their families.
“We believe every pilgrim deserves a safe, comfortable, and dignified journey of worship. The various inputs and experiences during this year’s Hajj operations will serve as an important foundation for perfecting services in the next Hajj season,” he said.
On the final day of the return phase, 30 June 2026, Garuda Indonesia operated flights for Flying Groups 41, 42, and 43 of the Makassar Embarkation, as well as Flying Group 19 of the Banjarmasin Embarkation. The return phase took place from 1 June 2026, starting with flights from Jeddah until 15 June 2026, then continuing from Madinah during the period of 16–30 June 2026.
As the national flag carrier, Garuda Indonesia views the organisation of Hajj flights as one of the company’s strategic contributions to supporting Indonesia’s Hajj pilgrimage services. The operational complexity, involving fleet readiness, flight crew, ground handling, baggage management, and cross-stakeholder coordination, is also an integral part of the transformation to build increasingly reliable, adaptive, and sustainable flight operations.
“The trust placed in Garuda Indonesia must be answered through professionalism, collaboration, and a wholehearted spirit of service,” he added.
