Jakarta (ANTARA) - Garuda Indonesia has returned to the list of the 25 World’s Best Airlines 2026 according to Airline Ratings, marking a consistent improvement in service and operational performance amid the company’s transformation and recovery process.

Garuda Indonesia’s President Director, Glenny Kairupan, described the achievement as a positive signal regarding the progress of the company’s performance acceleration programme and restructuring.

“In the midst of the challenging dynamics of the global aviation industry, this accomplishment serves as a positive signal reflecting the company’s transformation progress,” Glenny stated in Jakarta on Thursday.

In the ranking, Garuda Indonesia occupies the 24th position in the category of The World’s Best Full-Service Airlines 2026, and it is the only airline from Indonesia on the list.

The ranking announcement was made through the official AirlineRatings.com website based on a series of surveys and assessments completed earlier this year by an independent evaluation team.

This achievement reaffirms Garuda Indonesia’s position as the only national carrier to break into the global list for the 2026 evaluation year.

Glenny affirmed that the company is committed to accelerating the transformation, which encompasses improvements in service, operational efficiency, and sustainable digitalisation across all business lines.

The assessment covers various aspects, including enhancements in flight product quality such as meal services, cabin comfort, as well as the performance and professionalism of the flight crew.

Airline Ratings also evaluates service consistency, operational innovation, and flight safety as primary indicators in determining global airline rankings.

Glenny stated that Garuda Indonesia will continue to accelerate the overall transformation with an adaptive, sustainable, and measured approach.

He added that these efforts are directed towards strengthening international-standard service levels and enhancing the airline’s competitiveness in the increasingly competitive global aviation industry.
