Garuda Indonesia Opens Sales Office at BUMN Building
JAKARTA – State-owned airline Garuda Indonesia has inaugurated the Garuda Indonesia Sales Office (GASO), located at the BUMN Building on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan in central Jakarta.
Garuda Indonesia Chief Executive Officer Glenny Kairupan stated that the opening of this sales office was undertaken to expand its one-stop service network to the public.
GASO is an official sales office of Garuda Indonesia that provides direct face-to-face service to customers and business partners, including ticket purchases and changes, GarudaMiles registration, group ticket bookings, and various other travel requirements.
“Through this face-to-face service, we hope to provide a more personalised service experience whilst directly addressing the various travel needs of our customers,” Kairupan explained.
He added that Garuda Indonesia’s presence at the BUMN Building also holds historical significance for the company’s journey.
The building previously served as Garuda Indonesia’s head office from 1987, witnessing for more than two decades the airline’s operations as Indonesia’s flagship carrier in serving the mobility needs of Indonesian society.
“Garuda Indonesia’s return to this building carries strong symbolic meaning and serves as a reminder of the airline’s long journey in connecting Indonesia with the world, whilst also representing the spirit of inter-BUMN collaboration in serving the public,” Kairupan added.
Deputy Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency, Tedi Bharata, who attended the inauguration, stated that the presence of the Garuda Indonesia Sales Office would assist in meeting aircraft ticket service needs.
“With a strategic location, it will certainly provide convenient access for service users,” Bharata said.
With its location in the strategically situated central business and government district of Jakarta, the presence of GASO at the BUMN Building is expected to further facilitate the public in accessing various Garuda Indonesia travel services directly.
Garuda Indonesia currently operates at least seven sales offices in the Jakarta area and surroundings, in addition to a sales office network spread across various cities throughout Indonesia and abroad.
“With the presence of the Garuda Indonesia Sales Office at the BUMN Building, this becomes a symbol that Garuda Indonesia will always be closer to the public, serving wholeheartedly, maintaining trust, and continuing to take Indonesia’s name to greater heights,” Kairupan concluded.
