Garuda Indonesia Launches Mudik Promo for Lebaran 2026 for Indonesian Migrant Workers in Hong Kong

JAKARTA — In anticipation of Lebaran 2026, Garuda Indonesia is offering a Mudik programme for Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) from Hong Kong. The programme was introduced during a cultural event titled ‘Ramadan Gatherings and Breaking Fast’ held with diaspora communities and PMIs in Hong Kong. At the event, Garuda Indonesia also unveiled a dedicated programme for the diaspora and PMIs in Hong Kong to support smooth Mudik travel.

Garuda Indonesia’s Commercial Director, Reza Aulia Hakim, said the airline was striving to align the mobility needs of the diaspora and PMIs through direct Hong Kong–Indonesia connectivity. ‘Our presence in Hong Kong is not merely about strengthening connectivity; it is also about listening directly to the aspirations of the diaspora and PMI communities,’ Reza said in a press release on Saturday, 7 March 2026. ‘This Ramadan moment provides a space for togetherness and reinforces our commitment to delivering services that are relevant and of added value.’

During the event, Garuda Indonesia also introduced a loyalty programme named ‘Diaspora Card’ via GarudaMiles, offering additional benefits for the diaspora and PMI communities, in the form of miles accrual and access to a range of partner services.

Also in attendance was the Acting Consul General of the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong, Fithonatul Mar’ati, who expressed appreciation for Garuda Indonesia’s initiative to strengthen accessibility and service for PMIs and the Indonesian diaspora in Hong Kong, particularly ahead of the Lebaran Mudik period which is a significant moment for Indonesians abroad.

The event was attended by the Indonesian Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, Djauhari Oratmangun, representatives of the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Tourism Board, and several Indonesian state-owned enterprises operating in Hong Kong.
