Garuda Indonesia Group Transports 1.1 Million Passengers During Eid Transport Period
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Garuda Indonesia Group transported approximately 1.1 million passengers during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr/1447 Hijriah transport period, to support the smooth flow of homecoming and return journeys during that time.
“Garuda Indonesia Group successfully transported more than 1.1 million passengers during the (Eid transport) period of 14–29 March 2026,” said Garuda Indonesia Operations Director Dani Haikal Iriawan in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He noted that the figure consisted of 501,336 passengers on Garuda Indonesia via 3,297 flights, and 681,162 passengers on Citilink via 4,357 flights.
The Garuda Indonesia Group, comprising Garuda Indonesia and Citilink, successfully completed operations for the peak Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah/2026 CE season, recording an on-time performance (OTP) rate of 92.08%.
“This is the highest achievement in the last three years during the Eid period,” he stated.
He conveyed that this achievement reflects a significant improvement compared to previous periods, where OTP for Eid 2025 was recorded at 87.12% and 86.07% for Eid 2024.
“This achievement serves as a strong indicator of our consistent improvement in operational performance, particularly in managing high flight intensity during peak seasons,” Dani explained.
Furthermore, he said that this accomplishment was supported by comprehensive operational strategy enhancements, from optimising fleet readiness, personnel preparedness across all service lines, to intensive coordination with regulators and relevant stakeholders.
Dani emphasised that the success was also the result of close collaboration with service users.
He also stated that consistent operational management and passengers’ readiness to follow flight procedures, especially arriving early at the airport, were important factors in maintaining smooth operations amid the high Eid traffic.
Overall, Garuda Indonesia Group also recorded a passenger load factor (seat load factor/SLF) of 86%, reflecting consistent growth in travel demand during the Eid period.
The routes with the highest traffic were dominated by domestic routes such as Jakarta–Medan; Jakarta–Banda Aceh; Surabaya–Denpasar; Jakarta–Pangkal Pinang; and Yogyakarta–Denpasar.
Meanwhile, for international routes, the highest traffic was recorded on Jakarta–Amsterdam, Jakarta–Madinah, Jakarta–Jeddah, Jakarta–Haneda, and Denpasar–Tokyo.
Dani added that this achievement reflects Garuda Indonesia Group’s readiness to maintain operational stability amid surges in public mobility.
He further noted that this momentum serves as an important foundation for the group to continue strengthening operational performance through ongoing evaluations and adaptive capacity management.
“Our focus is not only on punctuality but also on ensuring a safe, comfortable, and seamless travel experience at every service touchpoint,” Dani explained.
With solid operational performance, Garuda Indonesia Group reaffirms its commitment to consistently delivering competitive airline services, particularly in supporting public mobility during periods of high traffic.
