Garuda Indonesia Group, comprising the airlines Garuda Indonesia and Citilink, has prepared 1.3 million flight seats for the Eid 2026 holiday period. This capacity has been arranged for the travel period of 14–29 March 2026.

“The Eid al-Fitr season is the most anticipated period for communities to reunite with family and take holidays. Therefore, we ensure that flight service capacity is optimally prepared throughout the Eid peak season period,” said Dani Haikal Iriawan, Director of Operations at Garuda Indonesia, in an official statement on Thursday, 12 March 2026.

From the total capacity, 616,000 seats are provided by Garuda Indonesia, and 742,000 seats are provided by Citilink.

These flights are supported by 7,634 flight frequencies, consisting of 3,325 Garuda Indonesia flights and 4,309 Citilink flights.

Dani added that as a precautionary measure against high demand, Garuda Indonesia Group is also planning 449 additional flights.

Garuda Indonesia projects that the peak return-to-hometown movement will occur on 18 March 2026, whilst the peak return journey is estimated to take place on 24 March 2026.

“This flight capacity readiness is part of the company’s commitment to ensure smooth public mobility during the Eid holiday period,” said Dani.

The operational readiness is supported by a fleet of 101 aircraft, consisting of 60 aircraft from Garuda Indonesia and 41 aircraft from Citilink.

The Garuda Indonesia fleet comprises 6 Boeing 777-300ER, 11 Airbus A330 Series, and 43 Boeing 737-800NG. Meanwhile, the Citilink fleet consists of 39 Airbus A320 and 2 ATR 72-600 aircraft.

In addition to fleet readiness, Garuda Indonesia Group also ensures the readiness of flight crew, operational systems, and customer service throughout the Eid transport period.

To anticipate the surge in demand during the Eid holiday, Garuda Indonesia Group is strengthening operational readiness and service comprehensively. The preparations include ensuring flight crew readiness, maintaining fleet airworthiness through routine maintenance, service standards and irregularity mitigation, as well as ensuring the readiness of ground handling infrastructure systems and services.
