Jakarta, VIVA – Garuda Indonesia Group, through its Aerowisata Group business line, has entered into a partnership with the Istiqlal Mosque Management Body (BPMI) to support the Ramadan Iftar Meal Provision Programme at Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta.

Beyond supporting the programme, Garuda Indonesia Group will also provide professional management of facilities and religious travel services at one of the largest mosques in Southeast Asia.

Garuda Indonesia President Director Glenny Kairupan said that through this inaugural collaboration, Aerowisata would support various activities organised by BPMI through its food services, hotel, and travel agency business lines operated by Aerowisata’s subsidiaries. Additionally, transport and logistics services represent potential areas for future cooperation.

“Through the synergy of Garuda Indonesia Group’s business lines, we want to ensure that our presence delivers real added value,” Glenny said in a statement on Monday, 23 February 2026.

He added that the collaboration goes beyond a mere service agreement, representing an ecosystem contribution spanning meal provision, accommodation, and religious travel support.

“With integration and added value for the faithful, stakeholders, and the Istiqlal Mosque management,” he said.

Religious Affairs Minister and Grand Imam of Istiqlal Mosque, Prof. Dr. KH. Nasaruddin Umar, welcomed the partnership as part of efforts to strengthen synergy between national institutions in delivering broader benefits to the public.

“This collaboration not only supports various public service activities at Istiqlal Mosque but also opens opportunities for sustained cooperation,” Nasaruddin said.

Furthermore, as the nation’s flag carrier, Garuda Indonesia holds a strategic role in supporting national connectivity, he noted.

“Through synergies like this, we hope that the utilisation of national services can be further optimised whilst fostering shared pride in our national airline,” he said.

Ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, Aerowisata Group through its Aerofood ACS service will provide iftar menus with a focus on menu planning, portion control, and improved distribution systems to reduce food waste and rubbish volumes.

Additional support will also be provided for other food programmes, including the Madrasah Student programme, Friday Sharing initiative, and catering packages for various events and activities at Istiqlal Mosque.
