Garuda Indonesia Enters Top 10 Best Airlines in Asia According to DestinAsian 2026
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Garuda Indonesia has entered the list of the top 10 best airlines in Asia according to the DestinAsian Readers’ Choice Awards 2026.
In the ranking, Garuda occupies the 7th position, while also being the only airline from Indonesia included in the list.
The award was announced in February 2026, amidst the company’s ongoing efforts to transform its services and operations.
“This reflects Garuda Indonesia’s consistency in maintaining flight service quality amid the dynamics of the global aviation industry, while also strengthening the company’s position as a competitive full-service airline in the Asian region,” stated the official remarks from Garuda Indonesia’s management on Friday (20/3/2026).
The aspects considered in the assessment include overall service excellence, cabin comfort, food and beverage quality, cabin crew professionalism, punctuality, and the overall end-to-end travel experience.
In the evaluation, Garuda Indonesia was deemed capable of maintaining its position as a competitive full-service airline in the Asian region.
“The recognition from DestinAsian is the result of the company’s accelerated transformation, with customer input placed as one of the main pillars in improving service quality,” stated Garuda Indonesia’s management.
In line with the dynamics of the global aviation industry, Garuda Indonesia views various inputs on services as part of the continuous improvement process.
Service enhancement efforts are carried out comprehensively, starting from improving cabin quality, in-flight services, to optimising the passenger travel experience from start to finish (end-to-end customer journey).
Additionally, the company is strengthening on-time performance and developing digital services to increase customer accessibility and comfort.
Looking ahead, Garuda Indonesia affirms that it will continue adaptive business and operational transformations by prioritising the principle of continuous improvement to strengthen competitiveness and maintain world-class service standards.
