Garuda Indonesia Downgraded to Four-Star Status, No Longer a Skytrax Five-Star Airline
KOMPAS.com - Garuda Indonesia is no longer a five-star airline according to Skytrax. Recently, Skytrax released the ranking showing Garuda Indonesia’s rating dropping from five stars to four stars. “Garuda Indonesia, which used to be a five-star airline, is undergoing a restructuring period. With many in-flight products and ground facilities in Jakarta and Denpasar that are now severely outdated and in need of upgrading/modernisation, Garuda Indonesia’s rating has been lowered to four stars,” quoted from Skytrax’s official website, Wednesday (4/3/2026). As a result, the rating that was previously certified as a five-star airline has shifted to four-star. The product assessment includes: seating, facilities, food & beverage, IFE (In-Flight Entertainment), cleanliness, etc. Meanwhile, the service assessment includes cabin staff and ground staff. The rating uses a quality scale of 1 star up to the exclusive 5 stars for Airlines, and 5 stars for Airports. The rating is based on assessments of front-line product and service quality for airlines and airports, using an integrated and consistent rating system. The rating focuses on customer experience quality for the relevant product and service factors. Long-haul flights
