Garuda Indonesia Completes 2026 Hajj Operations, Serving 102,705 Pilgrims with 94.3 Percent OTP

National flag carrier Garuda Indonesia has officially completed all operational flights for the 1447 H/2026 M Hajj season, having served 102,705 pilgrims from 10 embarkation points across Indonesia. The operational series concluded with the arrival of flight GA-1443 from Madinah at Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in Makassar on Wednesday, 1 July 2026, at 17.05 WITA, carrying 244 pilgrims from Flying Group 43 of the Makassar embarkation. Throughout the return phase, Garuda Indonesia recorded an on-time performance (OTP) of 90.3 per cent, bringing the cumulative OTP for the entire departure and return operations to 94.3 per cent. President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Glenny Kairupan, said the completion of this year’s Hajj operations represents the company’s commitment to fulfilling its state mandate through the provision of safe, reliable, and pilgrim-oriented air transportation services. He noted that this achievement aligns with the company’s transformation agenda, which focuses on enhancing operational consistency, service quality, and collaboration across the aviation ecosystem. Kairupan added that the positive OTP result is an indicator that the strengthening of the company’s operational fundamentals is yielding results, though he stressed that transformation is an ongoing process. He confirmed that various evaluations and lessons from this year’s Hajj operations would be followed up to further strengthen Garuda Indonesia’s overall operational reliability and service quality. On the final day of the return phase, 30 June 2026, Garuda Indonesia operated flights for three flying groups from Makassar and one from Banjarmasin. The return phase commenced on 1 June 2026 with flights from Jeddah until 15 June, followed by flights from Madinah from 16 to 30 June 2026.
