Garuda Indonesia and Citilink Serve 1.1 Million Passengers
Garuda Indonesia and Citilink airlines transported more than 1.1 million passengers during the Eid al-Fitr transport period from 14 to 29 March 2026. Specifically, Garuda Indonesia carried 501,336 passengers via 3,297 flights, while Citilink transported 681,162 passengers through 4,357 flights.
Garuda Indonesia’s Director of Operations, Dani Haikal Iriawan, stated that overall, the Garuda Indonesia Group recorded a passenger seat load factor (SLF) of 86%. “This reflects the consistent growth in travel demand during the Eid period,” Dani said in a written statement on Tuesday, 31 March 2026.
Dani noted that the routes with the highest traffic were dominated by domestic ones, such as Jakarta-Medan, Jakarta-Banda Aceh, Surabaya-Denpasar, Jakarta-Pangkal Pinang, and Yogyakarta-Denpasar. For international routes, the highest traffic was recorded on Jakarta-Amsterdam, Jakarta-Madinah, Jakarta-Jeddah, Jakarta-Haneda, and Denpasar-Tokyo.
During the peak Eid al-Fitr season 1447 H/2026, the Garuda Group also achieved an on-time performance (OTP) rate of 92.08%, the highest in the last three years for the Eid period.
“This achievement reflects a significant improvement compared to previous periods, where the OTP for Eid 2025 was 87.12% and 86.07% for Eid 2024,” Dani said.
Dani stated that this accomplishment serves as a strong indicator of the consistent improvement in operational performance, particularly in managing high flight intensity during the peak season.
Dani added that the achievement was supported by comprehensive operational strategy enhancements, from optimising fleet readiness and personnel preparedness across all service lines to intensive coordination with regulators and relevant stakeholders.
