The Commander of Kodam IX/Udayana, Major General Piek Budyakto, inaugurated the Garuda Pioneer Bridge in Rontu Village, Raba District, Bima City, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), on Saturday (27/6/2026). The bridge will ease residents’ access to agricultural land. “Today, we are inaugurating the Garuda Pioneer Bridge in Rontu, which was built starting in early May 2026, with a length of 50 metres and a width of 150 cm,” Piek told reporters. Piek said the pioneer bridge in Rontu, Bima City, is a programme of President Prabowo Subianto through the Indonesian Army. Its purpose is to facilitate access to agricultural land and help residents speed up the transport of produce. “This bridge connects residential areas with agricultural land and rice fields, as well as providing access for residents to transport their harvests,” he said. Meanwhile, Bima Mayor A Rahman, also known as Aji Man, representing the community and the Bima City Government, expressed gratitude to the President and the Indonesian Army for helping to build a bridge that is very useful for the people of Rontu. “I ask the people of Rontu to take good care of and maintain this bridge because it is very useful for easing access to the land and transporting agricultural products,” he said. Aji Man added that there are three bridge points in Bima City built by the Indonesian Army. Besides in Rontu Village, two other points were built in Manggemaci Village, Mpunda District, and Paruga Village, West Rasanae District. “These three bridge points are truly and greatly needed by the community. I hope more connecting bridges will be built in Bima City,” Aji Man stressed. The details are 12 points in Korem 161/Wirasakti, NTT, 9 points in Korem 162/Wira Bhakti, Bali, and 3 points in Korem 163/Wira Satya, Bali.
