Garuda boss heads AAPA
JAKARTA (JP): President of state-owned flag carrier Garuda Indonesia, Abdulgani, has been appointed vice chairman of the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA).
Abdulgani was appointed during the association's assembly meeting held in Tokyo in late November.
He will support the appointed chairman, the managing director of Air New Zealand, James McCrea, during the year 2000 period.
AAPA was set up in 1966 as a medium for cooperation among air carriers in the Asia Pacific region.
AAPA currently has 19 members, including Singapore Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Japan Airlines, Ansett Australia, Thai Airways International, Cathay Pacific, China Airlines and Malaysia Airlines. (cst)
