Garda Mawar: President Prabowo Routinely Uses Personal Funds for Sacrificial Animals
The Chairman of Garda Mawar Social Organisation, Fauka Noor Farid, stated that President Prabowo Subianto has long maintained a tradition of sacrificing animals using personal funds, even before serving as President or Defence Minister.
Fauka said that during his tenure as General Chair of Gerindra, Prabowo annually slaughtered nearly 100 sacrificial cows entirely funded from his personal resources. The tradition continues this year despite Prabowo now being President.
“President Prabowo personally, before becoming President or Defence Minister, while still leading a political party, spent significant personal funds on sacrificial animals—nearly 100 each year, including this year,” he said in a statement in Jakarta on Monday.
Fauka made these remarks in response to controversies surrounding the use of the national budget for the President’s sacrificial animals.
The Timsus 08 commander noted that current narratives fail to consider that the presidential sacrificial animal assistance program has been in place since the Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono administration, continued under Joko Widodo, and was implemented in previous periods.
He suspects the controversy stems from certain political interests attempting to undermine President Prabowo’s image during his current term.
Therefore, he urged the public to be more critical of circulating information, especially on social media, where provocative content could incite public unrest.
Fauka also called for greater unity and focus on activities that directly benefit citizens.
“Amid today’s geopolitical challenges, unity is paramount. It is better we engage in positive community activities like those Garda Mawar undertakes today. Many people in need require direct assistance and tangible benefits,” said the former Kopassus Mawar Team member.
