Jakarta (ANTARA) – The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) of DKI Jakarta reported the latest data on the number of victims from the landslide at the Integrated Waste Management Site (TPST) Bantargebang, Desa Ciketing Udik, Kecamatan Bantargebang, Kota Bekasi, West Java, increasing the death toll to four people.

“The victim named Irwan Suprihatin was found inside a truck, dead,” said the Jakarta SAR Office spokesperson, Ramli Prasetyo, in Jakarta on Sunday.

In addition to evacuating the deceased, authorities also recovered survivors, namely Setiabudi and Johan.

He added that officers are continuing to take stock of the situation, and many waste-truck vehicles and stalls remain buried at the site.

Metro Jaya Police suspect there are still several victims buried in the waste pile landslide at Bantargebang TPST, Bekasi City, West Java, on Sunday.

“There are likely other victims not yet found, and several waste trucks buried under the landslide material,” said the Public Relations Head of Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday.

Metro Jaya Police have been handling the incident which occurred around 14:00 WIB at TPST DKI Zone 4C, Cikiwul Village, Bantargebang District, Bekasi City, West Java.

“Regarding the waste pile landslide at Bantargebang TPST, Bekasi City, Metro Jaya Police have undertaken on-site handling,” he said.

Earlier, Basarnas DKI Jakarta disclosed three deaths from the landslide at Bantargebang TPST Desa Ciketing Udik, Bantargebang, Bekasi City.

Jakarta SAR Head Desiana Kartika Bahari, in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday, explained that the three victims consisted of two women and one man who were stall owners and a truck driver.
