Garbage at Monas
Garbage at Monas
From Pelita
Garbage and trash are often seen scattering in and around
Monas (National Monument Park) despite the fact that the cleaners
toil to keep the area clean. But, in reality, cleanliness in the
popular park is merely a continuous dream. Why is it so difficult
to make the area clean? It seems maintaining cleanliness depends
largely on the people who use the park. Visitors are invariably
too careless and reluctant to put their rubbish in bins. They
just litter as they please. This is especially true when visitors
come in groups, be they school children or employees. They leave
used boxes, plastic wrappers and other waste in the wrong place.
It would be appropriate for authorities to supervise the area
and warn negligent visitors of their wrong behavior. It is also
necessary to increase the number of the rubbish bins to ensure
cleanliness contributes to the beauty of the park.
