Tangerang (ANTARA) - PT Gapura Angkasa and Turkish Cargo, a division of Turkish Airlines, have entered into a cooperation agreement for cargo handling services at two major airports: Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) and I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS).

The Chief Executive Officer of PT Gapura Angkasa, Ichwan F. Agus, stated in Tangerang on Friday that this partnership represents a significant milestone in strengthening the company’s position as a strategic partner for international airlines in Indonesia, particularly regarding cargo handling services.

“This cooperation agreement marks a further strengthening of the partnership between the two companies in supporting international air cargo operations in Indonesia,” he said.

In its implementation, Ichwan continued, the company will provide cargo handling services for Turkish Cargo in accordance with the scope of services, procedures, and operational standards agreed upon by both parties.

He noted that providing services at CGK and DPS is strategically vital, as both airports serve as Indonesia’s primary international aviation gateways.

To support these operations, he stated that the company will utilise its operational network, experienced workforce, and capabilities in ground handling and cargo management, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, security, service quality, and compliance with applicable aviation operational standards.

“Cargo services at these two locations are expected to support Turkish Cargo’s operational needs while contributing to international air cargo connectivity and a stronger logistics network,” he added.

Turkish Airlines Chief Cargo Officer, Ali Türk, stated that Indonesia is a vital part of the global air cargo network and highlighted the importance of the partnership with Gapura Angkasa to support operations in Soekarno-Hatta and Denpasar.

“This cooperation helps us deliver consistent and seamless services to customers throughout the region,” he said.

Meanwhile, PT Gapura Angkasa Chief Commercial Officer, Denny Perdana Wirawan, stated that the signing of the agreement is part of Gapura Angkasa’s ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships with international airlines while expanding its cargo handling business.

“This is also in line with the evolving aviation and logistics landscape; the company continues to enhance operational readiness and service quality to meet increasingly dynamic customer needs,” said Denny.
