Gapembi Jabar optimistic BGN will be more transparent under Sudaryono
The West Java chapter of the Indonesian Food and Nutrition Entrepreneurs Association (Gapembi) has expressed optimism that the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) will operate more transparently and professionally under the leadership of its new head, Sudaryono. Heri Ukasah, Chairman of Gapembi West Java, stated that the change in leadership is welcome news for partners of the nutrition programme, as it raises hopes for improved institutional governance and communication. “We are very optimistic that under Sudaryono’s leadership, BGN will function better, optimally, professionally, and transparently, in line with the President’s expectations,” Heri said in Bandung on Sunday. He added that Sudaryono’s experience in both government and organisational roles would be a key asset in executing BGN’s programmes going forward. Following discussions with its board, Gapembi West Java declared its full support for Sudaryono’s leadership and expressed readiness to oversee and back all BGN programmes, particularly those related to partnerships, programme governance, and resolving issues faced by partners in the field. “We will continue to support policies aimed at ensuring the success of the National Nutrition Agency’s programmes,” he said. Addressing concerns raised by various regions, Heri explained that most related to communication breakdowns between partners and BGN during the previous leadership period. However, he noted positive changes since the leadership transition, revealing that several associations had already been received for direct dialogue with BGN within the first two days of Sudaryono’s tenure.
