Ganjil-Genap traffic scheme in Jakarta to be suspended, note the dates
Jakarta – The policy restricting vehicles under the ganjil-genap (odd-even) system in Jakarta is suspended for several days in March 2026. The information was conveyed by the Jakarta Department of Transportation (Dinas Perhubungan DKI Jakarta) via a post on the official Instagram account @dishubdkijakarta. In the announcement, the ganjil-genap scheme would not be enforced from 18 to 24 March 2026. The policy refers to several rules relating to national holidays and collective leave. The statement explains that the suspension of the ganjil-genap is based on the Joint Ministerial Decree (Surat Keputusan Bersama, SKB) on national holidays and leave for 2026. In addition, the rule also refers to Governor Regulation (Pergub) Jakarta Number 88 of 2019 governing traffic restrictions under the ganjil-genap system. “Traffic restrictions under the ganjil-genap system will not be applied on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays designated by presidential decree,” the post says. Although the ganjil-genap is temporarily suspended, the public is urged to continue observing traffic rules when driving. “Keep safety in mind and obey road signs,” the post states. Full information about this policy can be viewed on the official Instagram account @dishubdkijakarta. The ganjil-genap implementation in Jakarta is divided into two time windows, namely morning from 06:00 to 10:00 WIB, and afternoon to evening from 16:00 to 21:00 WIB. Road users are advised to adjust their vehicle registration numbers to the calendar date to avoid sanctions.
