Ganja plantation found in Klaten

KLATEN, Central Java: Local police discovered on Thursday marijuana planted on a 100-square-meter plot in Sidorejo village here.

Klaten Police chief Lt. Col. Mustofa Hari Kuncoro said the police were hunting the owners of the field, identified only as Del, 35, and Bad, 25.

"They reportedly went to Jakarta," Mustofa said, adding that the police questioned the suspects' parents about their whereabouts.

Police found 38 kilograms of marijuana which were planted among cassava and corn crops, Mustofa said.

The ganja plants were about three months old, with an average height of 1.75 meters. (har/edt)
