Gandaria residents receive a cow from Rano under innovation program
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Residents of RT 11/RW 07 in Gandaria Utara, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, received a cow from Jakarta Vice Governor Rano Karno in recognition of various innovation programmes for community security. ‘We are grateful to have been given a cow for the residents. It is very beneficial,’ said RT 11/RW 07 head Imam Basori (43) to reporters in Jakarta on Wednesday. Imam said the sacrificial cow would be slaughtered and the meat distributed to residents. ‘After the event, we will slaughter it and distribute the meat to residents, nearby communities, and those in need,’ he said. Besides the cow, Imam said the Jakarta Vice Governor also provided an additional television as part of efforts to foster innovation. During the event, Rano also praised the digital community security innovations developed by RT 11 RW 07 residents. The system includes smart gates, panic buttons linked to smartphones, community patrols, and GPS tracking. Jakarta Vice Governor Rano Karno said the provincial government’s cow distribution for Eid al-Adha on Wednesday was limited to two locations. In total, 210 cows have been distributed across Jakarta. ‘Yes, we’re only doing two locations today by coincidence. But overall, 210 cows have been distributed across Jakarta,’ Rano said. Rano stated that the sacrificial animal slaughters are not all conducted on the same day due to time constraints and other circumstances. He also noted that the number of sacrificial animals distributed by the Jakarta Provincial Government this year has increased compared to last year. ‘Last year, the Jakarta Provincial Government distributed 160 cows, this year it increased to 210 cows and 10 goats. Breakdown: 160 cows from state-owned enterprises, 44 from the national zakat agency (Baznas), and six from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HIPMI),’ he said.
