GameChanger Studio Officially Releases The Spirit Weaver Demo on Steam Next Festival
GameChanger Studio is strengthening its position as a game publisher with the official release of a demo for its latest title, The Spirit Weaver (TSW).
This announcement marks an important milestone following the company’s first formal declaration of its publisher role during its 12th anniversary celebration some time ago.
The game, developed by Star Bullet Studio, previously garnered attention through a teaser release at the Indonesian Game Day event. Now, TSW has the opportunity to showcase its strengths on the international stage through the Steam Next Festival, which runs from 24 February to 3 March 2026.
The Spirit Weaver is a visual novel game created by students under the leadership of Kezia Lawrence. The development team comprises an interdisciplinary collaboration involving Aisha Azalia Aldian, Ammar Rasyad Chaeroel, Farizki Kurniawan, Myra Amirah Sari, Meydiandra Annisa Syafi, Kyria Shemaiah Susanto, and Muhammad Yaser.
GameChanger Studio Chief Executive Officer Riris Marpaung revealed that her interest in the project originated from an academic environment. “I first played the prototype of The Spirit Weaver game when I was evaluating it as part of their coursework at the Faculty of Visual Arts and Design (FSRD) at Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). I immediately fell in love with its visuals and the Tarot theme, which is still rarely explored in games. The team composition from various disciplines (Visual Communication Design, Information Technology and Interior Design), their high curiosity and persistence formed the basis of my decision to collaborate as a publisher,” Marpaung said.
In the game, players take on the role of Alora, a Tarot reader called to the spirit realm. Her mission is to stop a mysterious threat called The Entropy. However, Alora’s journey extends beyond saving lost spirits; it involves confronting inner conflict and significant guilt from her childhood.
Star Bullet Studio Lead Designer Kezia Lawrence emphasised that emotional aspects form the core of the game. “Our team has designed this game to be a mystical yet personal experience, and we cannot wait to see how each player will interpret this journey!” Lawrence stated.
As a narrative simulation game, The Spirit Weaver offers several flagship features that emphasise player choice.
Players can now try the demo version of The Spirit Weaver for free through the Steam platform. Although the full release date has not yet been set, the demo’s presence is expected to provide an overview of the narrative quality and visual design championed by the collaboration between GameChanger Studio and Star Bullet Studio.
