Gambling Operators Disguised as Timezone Arcades in North and West Jakarta Rise to 69 Suspects

The number of individuals involved in criminal activities related to gambling disguised as children’s play arenas, or Timezone, in the North Jakarta and West Jakarta areas has increased. A total of 69 people have been detained.

“The total number of people detained from the raids on two gambling venues using the Timezone modus operandi, named Dissney Timezone and Sky Timezone, amounts to 69 suspects,” said Kanit 2 Jatanras PMJ, AKP Reza Arif Hadafi, in a statement on Saturday (13/6/2026).

Police detailed that the 69 individuals consist of the Timezone owners, employees, and players. They have all been named as suspects.

“Three owners or managers, 19 organisers or employees, and 47 players,” he stated.

For context, the raids were conducted around 9.45 p.m. Western Indonesia Time on Wednesday (10/6). The perpetrators used children’s play arena machines to carry out the gambling practices.

“The gambling was disguised as a Timezone game, which contained Mickey Mouse games, roulette, spinning dragon, wind ball, bird/fish/dragon shooting, card games, and slots,” said Kasubdit Jatanras Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Abdul Rahim in a statement on Saturday (13/6).

The two locations were Dissney Timezone in Penjaringan, North Jakarta, and Sky Timezone in Kalideres, West Jakarta. From Dissney Timezone, 76 gambling machines were seized, while 58 gambling machines were seized from Sky Timezone.

“Players made deposits either in cash or by transfer, which were then converted into vouchers. From these vouchers, players exchanged coins to play on the gambling machines, after which the coins could be exchanged back for gold or cash, either in physical form or via transfer,” he said.
