GAM urged to return to RI

Relatively wide support for the military operation in Aceh
reflects the public's loss of sympathy for the Free Aceh Movement
(GAM), an organization perpetrating torture, destruction and
terror and masterminding all savage acts towards the Acehnese.

Now that a military operation is under way in Aceh, casualties
are unavoidable. Still, more serious bloodshed may be averted if
GAM realizes its mistake and recognizes the sovereignty of the
Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

When GAM returns to the fold of the Unitary State of the
Republic of Indonesia, there is also an opportunity to bring
peace to the Acehnese. GAM must realize that the Aceh question
can never be solved by means of violence.

Finally a call to GAM members: Be once again part of the
Indonesian nation and build a just and prosperous Aceh.
